This group meets together on a regular basis to sew and distribute comfortable head coverings for cancer patients. Can’t sew? You can still be part of the group by helping with cutting, ironing and/or packaging.
In the over 10 years that the group has been meeting, 28 women have been involved – cutting, sewing, packaging, and delivering hats for chemo patients. They have each played a part in the group reaching the October 2022 milestone of 10,000 plus hats created!
The group creates five different styles of hats, with the turban being the most popular. Each hat is packaged with a small card that reads “Just for you because we care – from a friend and volunteer in your community. Made at Christ Memorial Church, Holland, MI.”
Once the hats are completed and packaged, they are delivered to four cancer centers across three counties, in addition to The Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
Anyone is welcome to join this group! For more information, contact Lori or 796-3361.
